HyperIP 5.5.2 Updates

  1. How do I obtain/install an update?
    • Updates are made available for download from NetEx's secure site. You may upload these updates directly to your HyperIP by following this procedure:

      Login to your HyperIP.
      Proceed to the 'File Downloads/Uploads' page.
      Click 'Browse' and select the update file you wish to upload.
      Click 'Send File'.
      Proceed to the 'Maintenance Commands' page.
      In the HyperIP Code Updates & Images section, select 'List Available Updates' from the drop-down and click <GO> to verify you've uploaded the update file.
      Enter the update filename into the 'Update or Image File' text box.
      Select 'Install Update File' and click <GO> to apply the update.

      To verify the updates which have been installed select the "Show Update History Log" from the second drop-down menu in the HyperIP Code Updates & Images section on the HyperIP Maintenance Commands page, then click <GO>.
  2. Update 3119: HyperIP 5.5.2 Patch for Ticket 3119
    • This update addresses:
      • Ticket 3119- Installing this patch will disable the logic which decreases the transmitting rate. This should only be installed in a static network (private link) and when there are periods of time with little traffic, which cause the logic to decrease the transmitting rate over time. There is a reciprocal patch to re-enable the logic which decreases the transmitting rate (patch-3119-R.nex).
      Retrieve and install the update at https://ftp.netex.com/product_dl/public/appliance/hyperip/5.5.2/patch-3119.nex to disable the logic.
      Retrieve and install the update at https://ftp.netex.com/product_dl/public/appliance/hyperip/5.5.2/patch-3119-R.nex to re-enable the logic.
      HyperIP requires a restart to enable these updates.

  3. Update 2942: HyperIP 5.5.2 Patch for Ticket 2942
    • This update addresses:
      • Ticket 2942 - Addresses an issue where AHS failovers or intermittent suspension of data transfers occured. Messages with the text "e1000_clean_tx_irq: Detected Tx Unit Hang" reported in the messages log at the time of the suspended traffic or AHS failover indicates this issue exists on your HyperIP.
      Prerequisites/Dependencies: This update has no other dependencies.
      Retrieve and install the update at https://ftp.netex.com/product_dl/public/appliance/hyperip/5.5.2/patch-2942.nex.
      HyperIP must be restarted to enable this update.

  4. Update 3255: HyperIP 5.5.2-1 Patch for Ticket 3255 (3097)
    • This update addresses: 
      • Ticket 3255 - Fixed issues with memory leaks when application servers are getting connection failures (TCP connect errors 110 and 111 reported in the HyperIP logs) OR sessions between HyperIP sites can not be established. (Display HyperIP Status shows Current State as something other than Active or Halted).
      Prerequisites/Dependencies: This update has no other dependencies. It can be applied to all HyperIP 5.5.2 releases.
      Retrieve and install the update at https://ftp.netex.com/product_dl/public/appliance/hyperip/5.5.2/patch-3255.nex.
      HyperIP must be rebooted after applying this update.

  5. Update 3243: HyperIP 5.5.2 Patch for Ticket 3243 - MANDATORY SECURITY PATCH
    • This update addresses:
      • Ticket 3243- Tighten up the potential of unauthorized privileged access.
      Prerequisites/Dependencies: This update has no other dependencies. It can be applied to all HyperIP 5.5.2 releases.

      Installation enables this update.

  1. How do I obtain/install an update?

  2. Update 2640: HyperIP 5.5.1-1 cumulative patch (superceeded by Update 3539)
    • This update addresses multiple issues:
      • Ticket 2497 - fixed issue where a very low receive rate caused unpredictable performance
      • Ticket 2568 - fixed issue where connection limits disappeared after restarts
      • Tickets 2578,2591,2593 - fixed issues with restoring AHS configurations from versions prior to Release 5.5
      This patch has been superceeded by Update 3539 listed below.

  3. Update 3042: HyperIP 5.5.1-1 Patch for Ticket 3042 (superceeded by Update 3539)
    • This update addresses:
      • Ticket 3042 - Mandatory fix for AHS configurations. This fixed an issue when adding the primary site in an AHS configuration resulted in the incorrect IP address internally configured for the Virtual IP address. External configuration files appear correct, but the HyperIP did not use that Virtual IP address.
      This patch has been superceeded by Update 3539 listed below.

      • Ticket 3397 - Fixed a problem causing the ping intercept  to be locked on to a session in a multi-site configuration (symptoms are pings to other sites do not complete).
