NESiGate Software Release 2.8.3 is now available.
For download instructions and links refer to the Release Announcement.

Outstanding issues/problems

Problem: Immediately after installing release 2.8.3 and before rebooting, the web Reboot commands in the Misc Commands menu are not functional.

Workaround: issue the 'reboot' command from the 'CLI Command' button on the web homepage or logged in as an NG admin to complete the installation.

Problem #1430,1 (NG-CO/LO only): NETEX web page incorrectly displays 'NCT file not found - buildPam not possible', and the buildPam and other Netex commands fail with 'AccexxCfgNetex ERROR: buildPam by <admin> not allowed'.

Workaround: The message may be false due to a bug in the web code. If there is an NCT listed on the Downloads page for this NG, ignore the message. There is a more serious bug in the install for NG-CO & NG-LO that incorrectly disables the Netex CLI commands. To get them back, rerun the install and before rebooting, run these commands as root:
    service ngcmd stop
    nesi-pre-boot
    reboot

Problem #1455: An invalid escon conguration can be produced when an interface is deleted and others are defined on the same board.

Workaround: delete all interfaces on the board and reenter the correct definitions.

Problem #1465: NG-LO & CO only - max sessions exceeded due to hung transports.

Workaround: caused by incomplete disconnect of remote ntxoper sessions - avoid these and use the browser interface if possible. A nesigate restart or reboot will clean up the situation.

Problem Web browser session immediately times out after logging in successfully.

Solution: caused by inconsistent time or timezone setting between the NG and the browser client. Synchronize the times, or use the CLI interface to query/configure the unit.

Problem NesiGate time of day does not reflect the new Daylight Savings Time start in the US.

Solution: download and install this update file .

NOTICES

  • If you have configured more than one network interface on a NESiGate appliance:
    - For ARP to work correctly, the network interfaces must be in different ethernet broadcast domains.
    - For routing to work correctly, the network interfaces must be in different IP subnets.
  • NESiGate dumps: Once a dump has been taken via the cli 'getDiagInformation [reason]' or the web interface, it must be moved to a server with internet access using 'sendFileHost' (ftp to host) or 'sendFileMedia' (copy to memory stick). Then the upload to NESi can be done as described on our ftp tips page, or alternatively via secure HTTP upload using this URL: https://ftp.netex.com
You will get a warning regarding the security certificate for the site.  This is because the service on that FTP server is using a self-signed certificate.  Depending on the browser you use, the warning you receive and the options you're given will vary.  In any case, choose to accept the certificate and continue on to the page.  Once there, you will be presented with a very basic interface.  "Browse" for the file you want to upload and then click the "upload" button to make it happen.
