Frequently Asked Questions
With the discontinuation of DXE, what will happen to my HYPERchannel based NetEx applications?
NetEx will continue to support legacy NetEx/HC (HYPERchannel) applications as long as the DXE remains supported by
CNT. It is very difficult to anticipate future DXE parts shortage and that is why we are most interested in moving
all NetEx/HC customers to the newest version of NetEx/IP, which was released late in 2000.
What's the difference between NetEx/HC and NetEx/IP?
NetEx/IP is the NetEx/HC high performance data transport protocol rewritten to allow businesses to send large amounts
of data over any standards-based, corporate IP network. All existing NetEx APIs are maintained. Current NetEx based
applications, such as custom-written user applications, USER-AccessT, BFXT, PFXT, TPST and CONNECT:Direct® don't have
to be modified or changed to use NetEx/IP.
Where can I see a support matrix for NetEx/HC products?
A support matrix is listed on the NetEx Website. The matrix includes information on NetEx, BFX , PFX, USER-Access,
TPS, and links to other support pages and policies.
How can I verify the latest release levels for NetEx/HC and/or associated applications?
The latest release levels are listed on the Web. The current release level matrix includes information on the operating
system levels, vendor platforms, and online documentation.
