U.S. Postal Service Upgrades San Mateo Computing Facility with NetEx and HP Users Report 800 Percent Improvement in Large-File Throughput MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 15th, 2004NetEx® – the industry’s provider of the world’s fastest data transport with guaranteed data delivery – today announced that the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) computing facility in San Mateo, Calif., has upgraded its high-speed LAN and provided standards-based IP connectivity between the new HP ES80s and an IBM O/S390 system by installing NetEx/IPTM software and supporting hardware. According to NetEx CEO Craig Gust, “USPS users have reported an above-expectation 800 percent improvement in large data-file throughput since the completion of the three-week project during Q4 CY2003. The combination of HP ES80 processors replacing HP GS160 systems and NetEx/IP software replacing legacy NETEX software and StorageTek DXE hardware provides more computing power and faster transmission for USPS’ expanding applications,” he said.
