NetEx Introduces Fastest High-Volume, Long-Distance
Data Transport for IP Networks

HyperIPTM Boosts Data Throughput Up to 10 Times

MINNEAPOLIS, October 8, 2003—NetEx® – the industry’s provider of the world’s fastest data transport with guaranteed data delivery for the past 20 years – today announced HyperIPTM, the fastest accelerator for high-volume data transfer over WAN IP networks.

HyperIP reduces bandwidth and equipment costs for enterprises with multiple data centers connected by high-speed WANs including DS3 and OC3. The new product dramatically alleviates TCP/IP degradation associated with longer distance (200-plus miles) transmission of time-sensitive, mission-critical data in applications such as storage networking, even on noisy or congested networks. HyperIP will be featured at the Storage Networking World Show in Orlando, October 27-30, 2003.

NetEx CEO Craig G. Gust said, “We are looking forward to sharing results that demonstrate HyperIP’s prowess in boosting application performance over long distances up to 10 times on standard IP networks. No other IP solution offers comparable speed acceleration and bandwidth conservation over extended distances. It’s like getting up to 10 WANs for the price of one.” He added that HyperIP’s compression feature further elevates performance and effective throughput, emphasizing bottom line results in dramatically reducing the total cost of ownership for TCP-based applications that move data over WANs.

In addition to increasing operating efficiency by ensuring that challenging data transfers are consistently completed on time, HyperIP is transparent and non-disruptive. Unlike existing techniques for high-speed data transport, HyperIP is a simple appliance that easily attaches to an existing network infrastructure and requires no changes to servers, applications or network devices.

NetEx reseller Sumisho Electronics Co., Ltd. (SSE) is testing HyperIP in Japan with one of their largest customers for a long-distance business-continuity application. According to Fumio Miura, Deputy General Manager, IT Platform System Solution Division of SSE, "We have a long history with NetEx’s production hardened products. We are confident that HyperIP will reduce the complexity and costs associated with moving large amounts of data over long distances and that it will offer customers a way to leverage their existing IP data infrastructures and management systems."

Marc Staimer, President and CDS of Dragon Slayer Consulting said, ”This is exactly what the storage replication market needs. HyperIP enables storage replication over IP sales to finally achieve market forecasts, eliminating those nasty TCP/IP throughput and latency performance issues and reducing OpEx costs.”

Besides storage networking applications such as data mirroring, snapshot, and backup/restore for business continuity and disaster recovery, HyperIP is ideal for bulk data transfer between mainframes and distributed servers for data warehousing and data mining, transmission of financial, medical and digital video images, and high-performance technical computing.

NetEx is marketing HyperIP globally through direct sales and its distributors and storage partners in North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Details are available at www.netex.com.
