NETEX ANNOUNCES NEW PERFORMANCE OPTIONS FOR HIGH-SPEED DATA TRANSFERS

New 3 Mb/s and 6 Mb/s options now make NetEx HyperTransport technologies available for departmental, remote office, application specific or small business use

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – May 21st, 2007 – NetEx in high speed data transport over TCP, today announced that its patent-pending, high performance data transfer technology is now available for a wide range of applications and environments at a lower price, and at speeds ranging between 3 Mb/s and 6 Mb/s. The new units are available immediately. The NetEx award-winning HyperIP®, an industry presence deployed and supported for 26 years, has previously been offered to enterprise customers and enabled the transfer of data at rates from 10 Mb/s to as high as 622 Mb/s.

The speed of the new HyperIP units can be adjusted by the use of ‘keys.’ A software key can be purchased when needed to quickly ramp up transfer speeds from the unit’s 1 to 3 Mb/s and 6 Mb/s to 622 Mb/s. This new option allows the user to purchase an affordable device that meets existing needs, and to leverage higher transfer rates at any time, while reserving the option to ramp down performance to the previous rate. Changing the transfer rate can be done transparently, without shutting down the NetEx HyperIP unit or compromising data. Options can be renewed or upgraded online. A web-accessible user interface gives the administrator powerful monitoring and configuration tools and provides a clear view of transfer processes.

NetEx has partnered with California-based Lauffin Group, headed up by Diamond Lauffin, one of the more outspoken and visible channel development executives in the industry. The Lauffin Group will develop, manage and expand NetEx’ channel presence worldwide employing 25 years of experience with one of the most successful channel development records in our industry. According to Craig Gust, NetEx CEO, “We’ve put together what we believe are the best product offerings available today, along with the best go-to-market strategy and the best channel group to get it done.”

“With the availability of HyperIP at 3 and 6 megabits per second, NetEx is now making the technology available to a new range of businesses that will see immediate benefits from these technologies. Unlike other vendors who encourage customers to over spend and/or lock them into a device that cannot be scaled when needed, NetEx has created a compelling alternative which provides investment protection. From data storage and application interaction over internal network architectures, the transfer of large files within a company, or backup and disaster recovery at an offsite location, the new HyperIP options provide the simplest to use, cost affordable alternative to the question of expensive bandwidth across any industry,” according to Lauffin.

Providing an alternative to dedicated point to point data lines, HyperIP enables LAN speeds over the WAN using standard Internet connections. In addition, HyperIP is the perfect solution to transfer data from your Fibre SAN across your WAN. All features and functions are delivered in a Production-Hardened transport /1U sized appliance, using standard, off-the-shelf components. This is in sharp contrast to proprietary competitors using large product suites comprised of multiple models requiring forklift upgrades to gain similar results.

HyperIP compresses data at the block level between 2:1 and 15:1. It overcomes or avoids network delays and other Ethernet problems that can impede the transfer of data. With embedded user definable tuning tools HyperIP allows you to dial in and optimize the perfect combination of block size and rate limiting to maximize an efficient transfer of your data over local networks or over the Internet.
