INFOWORLD AWARDS NETEX HIGHEST RATING OF 'EXCELLENT' IN PRODUCT REVIEW

NetEx HyperIP appliance earns high marks for improving
the flow of storage traffic across an IP WAN connection

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., January 12, 2005 —NetEx, the worldwide leader in high-performance data transport solutions, achieved the “Excellent” designation for its HyperIP storage appliance in a standalone review published in the January 3 issue of InfoWorld. This is the highest rating bestowed upon products evaluated by the magazine’s Test Center.

In the article “HyperIP boosts data-replication efficiency – NetEx appliance speeds storage transfers across noisy WAN links,” IT consultant Logan Harbaugh praised the HyperIP’s functionality in “counteracting the effects of latency over a WAN link; compressing data at the block level; and increasing the tolerance of TCP applications for latency, jitter, bit error rate, and bandwidth variation.”

The NetEx HyperIP received a weighted score of 8.9 from categories including Administration, Expandability, Security, Setup, Interoperability and Value. Harbaugh summarized his review by suggesting that companies with storage applications operating over TCP/IP WAN connections of T1 or higher should evaluate the NetEx solution.

“Our HyperIP ensures that the transmission of data over the WAN is delivered in an optimal manner, without delay and in the proper order in spite of any network noise,” said Robert MacIntyre, Vice President Business Development and Marketing at NetEx. “We are pleased that such a prestigious publication as InfoWorld has seen fit to reward us for succeeding in this goal by bestowing upon us the ‘Excellent’ designation in its recent review.”

HyperIP delivers unmatched performance, application support and data integrity for WAN-based IP data transfers. No other IP solution offers comparable application acceleration and bandwidth conservation with the highest end-to-end throughput. HyperIP ensures that challenging data transfers are consistently completed on time between distributed servers and/or storage controllers for remote IP storage networking, bulk data transfer between servers, high performance technical computing, financial, medical and digital video images transfers. HyperIP brings the same benefits to extended iSCSI targets, providing better performance over distance, improved link utilizations and a shield against packet loss.
